31 Days: Happy Birthday Brandon

I’ve kinda done something crazy. I have decided to join up with The Nester and her 31 Day challenge. In case you aren’t familiar with it {as I wasn’t, don’t be mad Nester if read this. ha}, the basic idea is that you blog about one subject for the entire month of October. To be honest, I would never have thought I would want to join up with this since I’m not really sure I can talk about one subject for 31 days {or that you or anyone else in the future reading this would want to hear about it, ha}, but as I read this post, I felt God nudge me.

You know that feeling right? The one where you feel like, “Oh yeah, I’m going to do that!” and then you slap yourself a few minutes later because you wonder what you just committed yourself too. Ha. Yeah, that one.

ANYWAY, I felt compelled to join up and instantly felt that my subject should be Thankfulness. Because to be honest, there is so much going on in my life right that I am so easily distracted by the bad, the annoying and the frustrating and not always able to see the GOOD. The things that God has and is continuing to do in my life. I fail so many times to be THANKFUL for what He was done.

Anybody else struggle with this??

So for the next 31 days I am going to post about something I am thankful for. Somedays it might be little somedays it might be something big, but I am going to strive to see the good in everything, and not focus on the bad.

“Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you who belong to Jesus Christ.” I Thessalonians 5:18

Anyone want to join me? At the end of every post I’ll ask you to be thankful too…to think about something you are thankful for. I challenge you to thank God for something EVERY DAY. I hope you do it…and link up with The Nester! :)

So here goes, my first thankful post, and I don’t know how I could start without being thankful for my husband. I don’t always treat him the way I should, or be thankful for him, quite frankly, so I felt I should do that now. Plus today is his birthday!!! So what perfect timing.

This is a horrible picture but it was taken last night while we were out to eat at Sea Thai for his birthday, so there it is.

So happy birthday to the love of my life. Thank you so much babe for all you have done to make me feel loved. The other day you told someone, “I am still so incredibly attracted to Amy.” I know its crazy, but that little statement made me love you so much more. After 10 years together, two kids {and some added weight :(}, you still love to look at me. THAT is amazing.

I adore you Babe! Even though it seems everything went wrong today {sick kids, no birthday dinner or date, or cake :(}, I am going to focus on the good and tell you that I am so thankful you are in my life. Thank you for still loving me! Happy birthday!!

Challenge: What about your spouse are you thankful for today? Tell them!!

Ok. So I don’t normally leave comments. I usually like to read and enjoy blogs silently. But how could I refuse a chance to say how Thankful I am for my husband! He is a constant Rock in our home. When things get “CRAZY” around here (and by things I’m talking about me) I can always count on him. He is a great provider, he spoils me and the kids…plus he’s hot too! I am extremely blessed to be Married to such a wonderful man. Love you Babe!
